Time, Peter Schiff, and Erasmus
Libertarian blogger Ilana Mercer has offered a few thoughts on the snide article that Time magazine wrote about the great economist Peter Schiff. Unlike the host of establishment Keyneisan economists Peter Schiff was right about the coming bursting of the economic bubble, but was laughed off as a crank. Even after being shown prophetic, the establishment media (which loves big government) still looks down its nose at Schiff. On the other hand, the same statist economists and their fellow travelers in the government that have been shown to be consistently wrong all these years are still looked to as founts of economic wisdom by both the media and the politicians.
With all that noted, the great Renaissance philosopher Desiderius Erasmus once made the following observation:
The more ignorant, reckless and thoughtless a doctor is, the higher his reputation soars even amongst powerful princes.
Now if you change the word “doctor” to “economist” you’d be spot on for our contemporary times.
Keith Olbermann: Obama’s Media Hitman
Here is the sniveling liberal Keith Olbermann with the even more detestable Janeane Garofalo denouncing the attendees of the recent the “Tea Party” protests as racists (8:25 into the clip):
To think that I was once an avid Olbermann fan.
Ron Paul on Real Time with Bill Maher
Here is the heroic Ron Paul on last night’s “Real Time” with Bill Maher, talking about the economy and patiently enduring the smug and arrogant attitude of Maher:
Pat Buchanan on ‘A Nation of Cowards’: “We Are Not Responsible”
Introduction from Karen De Coster:
Professor Dyson, a professional victimologist and blameologist, admits, in a moment of rage – “We need to redistribute the pain [to white people].” Pat Buchanan is at his best here. Dyson, in his opening fury, talks about how horrible it is in America for blacks, but there are no specifics given, no explanations needed. The empty rage is mind-boggling. Buchanan calls it “paralyzing stupidity.”
